Sibnath is a computational photonics researcher with well-rounded expertise encompassing photonic device modelling, simulation, and optical engineering. His work spans design, fabrication, characterisation, and real-world testing of advanced photonic structures.

Sibnath added, “The evolution of photonic devices in terms of their design, computational methods and applications bears testimony to the creative potential of optical engineering. Its creative journey is far from over and I am happy to be a part of it.”

During his PhD and prior postdoctoral research, Sibnath conducted pioneering investigations into non-Hermitian photonics, with a particular focus on device-level applications of exceptional points in guided-wave optical structures and phase-change metasurfaces. His work significantly advanced the development of tunable photonic devices and contributed to the broader understanding of engineered light-matter interactions. His research made significant contributions to understanding practical technological applications in photonics.

Sibnath added, “RCALS offers top-notch research facilities and assembles a distinguished team of mentors. It is a rare privilege to pursue pioneering research on such a distinguished platform and to collaborate with superb colleagues. I am eager to initiate research here and collaborate with the team to drive innovations in optical technology. I am also deeply impressed by the RCALS administrative team as a whole, particularly Yimei, whose outstanding hospitality continues to make me feel genuinely welcomed and supported.”
